I am here to empower you to achieve a natural childbirth and the best start to your new life for you and your baby.
“For me an empowered birth is one where I am the one who makes the decisions for me and my baby. Where I am in an environment of love, support, and respect for the power within my body to successfully birth my baby. Where I can be free to express anything I need to express; sound, movement, fear, love, ecstasy in a place that my expression will not lead to interference from the outside. I believe women have the ability to create an empowering birth experience regardless of if the birth outcome is natural, medicated, or surgical. When women are making the decisions for their bodies and their babies out of education, faith, belief and confidence in themselves and not out of fear or manipulation they will be empowered. I believe in the human body, in it’s power, and in birth’s ability to transform a person, woman, wife, and mother.” Dr. Nancy, Your Birth Coach

I’m so happy to learn about your website and the work you do. Already in 1983 my daughter was supposed to be a home birth, but as she was in breech presentation I went to the hospital, but within less than 24 hours we were back home. And my son was born at home in 1985, both were breastfeeded for many month.
Here in Austria, where I live, mothers can stay home 2 month ahead of birth and 2 month after birth and get the same amount of money they got from work. And you can stay home with your baby for up to 2 1/2 years and get money from the government, not as much as if you would work, but still, many mothers do this.
Whenever I visited the US for family reasons, I was always shocked, how little time mothers have to stay with their baby, how fast they have to go back to work. Babies need bonding – it is one of the most important things for a healthy, happy life and this is helpful for the whole system of human development (I guess you know what I try to say – as English is not my main language).
Keep up the good work.
Best wishes Maria Haupt, Austria,
Dear Nancy,
I loved the audio with your interview as a part of my preparation to my baby’s birth which I expect very soon. Very inspiring, very much making me believe in my strength – I can absolutely have a beautiful birth experience too! Interesting what you said about men trying to “help” and how they don’t want to see their women suffering. Makes me reflect about partner’s role together with my husband.
Thank you!
Thank you so much for showing the pulsating umbilical cord. Cutting the cord immediately following birth is a major cause of respiratory distress in newborns. I now have my children at home and would never go back to medicalized birth. At home, husbands have an important role, newborns are not exposed to hospital infections and (best of all) Mom, Dad, and baby can snuggle up together and take a big nap afterward.
Bravo! Lovely birth.
Thank you so much for sharing Dr. Nancy! So peaceful and amazing. You are very brave for broadcasting it live for all us strangers, but I’m so glad you did. Natural birth is incredible and you did an amazing job! I absolutely cannot wait to experience a home birth. Again, thank you for sharing this wonderful event (:
Dr. Nancy,
Congratulations on your wonderful peaceful birth. It was unassisted as you hoped it would be. Your birth was very emotional, even though I don’t know you personally. That was the birth I had envisioned for my first child. It didn’t happen. I had an emergent section where I was put completely under. My second was a failed VBAC, but at least I was awake, and got to hear my daughter’s first cries, and was able to touch her within minutes of her birth. Thank you so much for sharing this.
Best wishes to you and your wonderful family.

Congratulations on the beautiful, peaceful home birth of your precious new baby boy!
I love that you were willing to share your birth with us (strangers). If only more people had the visual of normal, healthy birth in their minds, we could start to break away from where we’re at now, regarding birth.
Again, congrats! I hope you and your family soak up these moments together, as they are so precious. From what I could tell, you’re a loving and gentle mama, and your children are very lucky.
Now get some rest!!
I wish your family all the best as you all welcome a new little one. I think what you are doing is amazing. I never thought about broadcasting live, but I definitely will be filming every aspect of my births whenever they happen.
Dear Nancy,
I had a wonderful first time homebirth 12 weeks ago and it was an amazing experience. I wish you a wonderful labour and look forward to following it on webcam. Best of luck!
Thank you for this. I am three months pregnant with my first and have arranged for a midwife-assisted homebirth. Despite being the oldest of four kids (and being 13 years older than the “baby” of them!) birth is alien territory. I’m hoping to improve my own birth my alleviating the anxiety I have towards it, stemming from my near-total ignorance.
I am praying for the health of your baby.Good luck.
I just wanted to thank you with all of my heart – your strong wonderful Mama You! I have one daughter and do not plan to have more. I am so thankful to be able to share your birth with my daughter… I do not know any women who would allow me to bring my daughter to their birth. So I feel very blessed to be allowed to share your birth with my daughter so that as you said she can see what it is like to go through the perfectly natural process of labor. We have watched ‘birthing videos’ together, but I agree that ‘being there’ through the entire process is entirely different. My Daughter though only three is very much a little mama herself. She was nursed till just a few months ago, and when asked what she is going to do when she grows up she answers, ‘be a good Mom, just like my Mom is’
Thank you, from both of us – we are Very Very Proud of YOU.
As a pregnancy, birth and baby photographer I think this is such a wonderful thing to share. Birth doesn’t belong hidden behind a door or thought of a taboo, it’s a beautiful miracle that everyone should become very familiar with as we all came to be who we are via birth
I am also a current student of homeopathy, in my last year, and intend on specializing in pregnancy, birth and baby care so I try to attend as many births as I can, because as much as they are similar they are so unique in there own. Thank you for this opportunity.
Sending you vibes for a wonderful journey.
I absolutely adore your birth video, thank you for sharing it with me. Your excitement at your sons birth is so wonderful.
I’m so excited for you. It is *so* important to share the true face of birth, what birth can be when women follow their own birthing instincts rather than being poked, prodded and prompted how/when/where and with whom to birth.
I know exactly what you mean about hoping the midwife won’t arrive. After my second baby, I knew it was my dream to have the next one unassisted – and I did. Here’s my natural childbirth video. I love that my other children got to witness the birth of their sibling. It was priceless.
Hi! I am 2 1/2 months pregnant with my first, and planning a homebirth with this baby. I think this is wonderful and empowering, and you are very brave. I’m so glad this has been broadcast across Canadian news networks. Women and men out there need to know that birth is, as you say, not a medical event – it’s a natural experience! I’ll be watching!
Thanks!!
I think this is amazing, I also had natural births with midwives for both of my boys. It was a great experience, and was definitely empowering. I think it is a great thing for others to witness a natural birth, as these days, a lot of women’s attitudes about childbirth have changed. One of the comments I hear often is, “I am nobody’s hero, give me the pain medication..” In no way was my choice for natural childbirth about trying to be anyone’s hero, it was about fully experiencing all aspects of childbirth. With the support you receive with a midwife, and the right mind set, anyone can enjoy a natural and amazing bonding experience with their new baby!
Nancy you are so brave! I just birthed my second child in my second home birth three weeks ago with midwives, and I can say with certainty that I was not brave enough to share that experience with many other people. I am so proud of you for doing this. I am doubly proud because I am a chiropractor as well
I LOVE this idea! Thank you so much for doing this!! It’s fantastic. I had 2 home births with some amazing midwives and they were the most wonderful, empowering experiences that I have ever had. More women need to believe that birth is normal and natural and they can do it too. Over and over I get told, “I could NEVER do that.” when I tell other moms I had natural home births. It’s frustrating that women no longer trust their bodies to do what they were made to do.
Anyway, my girls (3 and 5) and I will be looking forward to witnessing your birth. Thank you so much for sharing this special time with us!
Thanks for doing this, I think you’re very brave for broadcasting it. I also had a homebirth with my second child. The main reason for it was I felt it was counter-intuitive to interrupt the process of birth and get into a car be out in the world amongst strangers then be poked and prodded by strangers at the hospital. I wanted to be in my own ‘nest’ and give birth privately and without distraction. Thank you for what you’re making available to future generations of mothers.
Thank you for your question Amy. Yes you will be able to chat with other viewers and send me messages. Congratulations on your third. I actually wanted my first to be unassisted but my husband wanted the midwife as backup, she arrived 4 minutes before the birth. I am hoping this one will end up unassisted.
I am pregnant with my 3rd baby and planning my 3rd unassisted homebirth. I am very honored that you are choosing to share this experience with us. Will there be a place where we can chat with other viewers? A place where during the labor we can send you notes of encouragment? Very excited for you!
I am due early October. I am 33 weeks, so anytime in the next 4-10 weeks would be what we would expect. I was 8 days early with my first and 8 days late with my second, so never can know.
you didn’t mention the approx. dates this could be happening on? I’m just waiting at this point to meet our next daughter any day now:)
